Tap-Dancing Grid Thing
OnSong literally pretends your screen is a piece of paper. Yeah, we know, super wild concept. This whole "virtual sheet" thing means the fonts get bigger when you flip your device sideways. Revolutionary stuff. We're basically geniuses.
The page layout section is where you get to fiddle with a bunch of settings that control how OnSong barfs chord charts onto your screen AND how they print (because apparently people still do that).
Margins
Wanna shove your chords & lyrics away from the edges like they owe you money? Adjust these bad boys. You can tweak left, right, top & bottom separately. Pick from: 0", 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4" or 1-1/2". We default to 3/4" because we're fancy like that. Pro tip: keep some top margin so the menubar & status bar don't absolutely wreck your chord chart. You're welcome.
Paper Size
This tells OnSong how wide & tall your song page should be. Choose your adventure:
- US Letter — 8.5" × 11". The boring default.
- US Legal — 8.5" × 14". For when you need MORE song somehow.
- Tabloid — 11" × 17". Going big, we see you.
- A5 — 148mm × 210mm. Metric flex.
- A4 — 210mm × 297mm. The world's favorite piece of paper.
- A3 — 297mm × 420mm. Why would you even.
Paper Orientation
Portrait or landscape? Pick one. Portrait's the default because apparently we make the calls around here.
Include Page Numbers
Wanna see page numbers pop up? 'Cause we're gonna show 'em to you by default anyway—at least when you're printing. You're welcome (or we're sorry, toss-up really).
