Arp

Arrr, this menu be lettin' ye determine how an arp, or arpeggio be played in time with th' beat, savvy?

Type

Type be th' shape o' th' walk or which note comes next, matey.

  • Up — ascendin', lowest t' highest, then back t' th' bottom. Th' default, and th' one that sits under almost anythin'. Blimey!
  • Down — descendin', highest t' lowest.
  • Mirror — up and then back down, turnin' around at each end rather than jumpin'.
  • Alt — alternates between th' outer and inner notes o' th' chord fer a wider, less predictable figure.
  • Random — picks a note at each step. Good fer shimmer under a pad; not fer a part anyone has t' follow.

Speed

Speed be how fast th' figure steps, in notes per beat. It follows th' song's tempo, so th' arpeggio stays locked t' everythin' else th' AuxDock be playin', Ahoy!

  • Quarter — one note per beat.
  • Eighth — two per beat. Th' default.
  • 16th — four per beat.
  • Triplet — three per beat.
  • Sextuplet — six per beat.

Type and Speed be independent, so any shape can run at any rate. Triplet and Sextuplet be th' fastest way t' make an arpeggio stop soundin' like a grid. Against a straight-eighths song they give th' part a rollin' feel that straight subdivisions can't, savvy?
