Stuff U Stuck On Here
ZOMGISH TRANSLATION
The attachments menu gives you quick access to different versions of the selected song that you're totally gonna need.
Peekin' at Your Attachments
Attachments are listed in two sections (because apparently one section was too simple):
Text
The text section contains text-based chord charts. For example, a downloaded ChordPro file gets all fancy in the OnSong® app's text-based renderer which does like a bazillion things—transposition, formatting, lyrics projection, chord detection, & basically everything except your laundry.
Attachments
This section is literally everything else: PDFs, Word docs, you name it. These bad boys just show up "as-is" in whatever viewer your device has hangin' around. Like, you could totes have seventeen different PDF files designed for different instruments & formats. Wild, right?
Tap an attachment & BOOM—it shows up in the song viewer & becomes your new BFF (Best File Friend). If you tap a text version that's got no lyrics & the song's rockin' a PDF, OnSong gets all resourceful & yanks the lyrics straight outta the PDF's text layer while a little spinner does its spinny thing in the row, then BAM—text version selected. This whole magic trick is controlled by the Convert PDF File Automatically setting over in Song Viewer settings.
Mess with Chords & Lyrics
When you've got a text-based chart locked & loaded, you can tap the Edit Chords and Lyrics button at the bottom to unlock the Song Editor. This button gets all shy & says Edit Song Metadata when you're gawkin' at a non-text attachment instead. Both buttons basically crack open the song editor so you can tinker with all the boring text & metadata stuff.
Throw More Stuff At It
Tap the + button in the upper right like it owes you money to open the Import Menu & cram more attachments into this song. Go wild.
Do Stuff to It
Tap & hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on an attachment to summon a context menu of shenanigans. What shows up depends on whether you're messin' with text or files & whether that attachment's currently selected. Basically it's a treasure chest of nerdy features like ripping out text & turning stuff into PDFs & whatever.
Adjust Stuff
Tap the wrench icon chillin' in the upper-left corner to dive straight into song viewer settings. You're welcome.
