Oops, I Broke It. Fix Me.
The tuner widget gives you, like, way too many knobs to twist for how to customize tuning your instrument. Settings are grouped into three tabs along the bottom of the screen: Look & Feel, What Notes, Dude? and Where's the Sound Coming From?. OnSong remembers the tab you were obsessin' over last and opens right back to it. (You're welcome.)
Look & Feel
These settings control whether the tuner is actually listenin' & how extra it looks.
Listenin' Mode: ON or NOPE
This switch will toggle listenin' for tones on & off. Revolutionary, we know.
Font Color
This is the color that the font & other LED elements of the tuner appear in. By default, it's some semi-translucent black situation. But hey, if you set the opacity to 0%, you might wanna see the text & stuff in like, a specific color. We get it.
Screen Color
This settings lets you customize the background color of the tuner screen. The default setting is whatever color the app is already usin'. Shocking.
Opacity
Controls how see-through the background is, so you can peek at whatever's behind it. The eye button beside the slider shows or hides the tuner widget. Blink blink!
What Notes, Dude?
These settings control which notes the tuner is gonna eavesdrop on.
Instrument
By default, Automatic is selected & the tuner uses whatever instrument you set for the song. But if you're feelin' spicy, you can change it to whatever you're actually holdin': Guitar, 5 String bass, 4 String bass, Ukulele, Baritone (ukulele), Mandolin, Banjo, Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double bass. Srsly, we got 'em all.
Tuning
The tuner widget displays the notes of the instrument above whatever tone you're currently makin'. Change the tuning & boom—different notes show up. Pick Automatic to just follow whatever tuning you set for the song. (This section only shows up if your instrument has, like, options.)
Base Frequency
Sets the reference pitch of A that the tuner measures against. Default is 440 Hz, & you can pick from 432 Hz to 446 Hz in 2 Hz baby steps. Because apparently some of y'all are that picky.
Offset (Semitones)
Shifts the target notes up or down by up to five semitones. Use this when your instrument is tuned down or up from standard, like a half step down. Default is 0. (Shocking plot twist: it's normal.)
Where's the Sound Coming From?
This screen chooses which audio input OnSong listens through — the built-in microphone, a USB or line-in interface, a headset, Bluetooth, AirPlay, or OnSong AuxBox hardware. The list updates live as you connect & disconnect gear like you own a pro touring rig, & a checkmark shows which input is actually doin' the thing right now.
Automatic
Automatic lets OnSong use whichever input is currently connected, choosin' for you as devices come & go. Its subtitle shows the input in use right now. Pick this if you'd rather not think about it. (Fair.)
Available
Under Available, you'll see every input connected right now, each with its name & a lil' icon for its type. Tap one to use it — OnSong switches immediately & remembers your choice like a clingy bestie.
Previously Connected
Inputs you've used before but aren't plugged in right now appear here, all grayed out & sad. Tap one to make it your preferred input for when you reconnect it — OnSong confirms with Use When Available. Swipe left on a row & tap Forget to dump it from the list. No hard feelin's, right?
